Jaguar has just most recently decided to have a company do the hard work in developing an advanced instrument cluster for one of its newest vehicles - the Jaguar XK. This lucky company awarded with such an opportunity is the Visteon Corporation and it is a leader in driver information technology. Indeed, Jaguar has really chosen the best company to do the work in one of the important features for its vehicle. In the plans for the instrument cluster is an advanced high-resolution 3.8 inch color quarter Video Graphics Array (VGA) display which is actually based on a thin-film transistor (TFT) technology.

Why was the Jaguar XK’s new instrument cluster produced and designed as such? According to Visteon, they designed the instrument cluster as such as to be able to deliver enhanced vehicle information to the driver. Aside from this, they made sure that such an instrument cluster still brought with it superior styling. One of the main features that the cluster has is the large TFT screen which actually allows the XK to differentiate its driver information interface through function, features, and appearance. This instrument cluster also brings and mixes in a minimalist kind of design. It also combines state of the art functionality.

So what is with the Jaguar XK’s instrument cluster? This cluster actually houses two main round dials in chrome and tube designs. You can find white gauges with green illuminations at each side of the display. The advanced high-resolution display, on the other hand, is based on TFT technology which gives it the capacity to show off 262,144 colors. The high quality 256-color display is split into several zones. This actually allows the driver easy access to information like the vehicle body functionality, the gear selection, cruise control information, as well as tire pressure warning.

So, what is this other American made motorcycle? You probably
have been hearing more about - Victory motorcycles -, as well
as, seeing more of the Victory motorcycle models on the road.
Sales of Victory motorcycles increased 56 percent during the
fourth quarter 2005, as compared to the fourth quarter of 2004.
This increase is attributable to improved brand recognition, the
success of the Hammer and Vegas Jackpot models, a more powerful
100 cubic inch engine and a new six speed transmission, and
improvements in the dealer network. Full year 2005 Victory
motorcycle sales increased 34 percent over 2004, totaling $99.5
million. Victory is part of the Polaris Industries Corporation.
With annual 2004 sales of $1.8 billion, Polaris designs,
engineers, manufactures and markets snowmobiles, all-terrain
vehicles (ATVs), Victory motorcycles and the Polaris RANGER for
recreational and utility use.

In 2003 Victory motorcycle released what would become a new
revolution in American motorcycles. The - Victory Vegas -. The
Vegas was built on the Victory 92 cubic inch 5 speed Freedom
engine which boasts approxiamtely 82 horsepower. The Victory
Vegas was also revolutionary in that it was oil cooled. Yes, you
will no longer have to worry about over heating while sitting in
traffic or at a stop light much like you do if you owned a
Harley Davidson. With oil cooled, the oil is shared between the
engine and the transmission. It will take 6 quarts of AMSOIL
V-Twin Sytnthetic motorcycle oil to fill this engine. The AMSOIL
full-synthetic motorcycle oil goes well with these V-Twin
engines. Providing reduced engine wear and smoother shifting.
Also longer oil change intervals make using AMSOIL a smart
choice.

Victory followed up the 2003 Victory Vegas with a twist. Victory
enlisted the help of legendary motorcycle builder — Arlen and
Cory Ness –. The Ness team took the Vegas and made a Ness Vegas
vmodel for 2004. Victory also came out with the wonderful
Victory Kingpin cruiser. Same engine and frame as a Vegas but
with a beefier front tire and fully dressed up for long rides. A
very nice machine with deluxe touring and chrome upgrades. With
the release of these bikes and the decline of the Indian
motorcycle company. Victory has become a very popular motorcycle
line. For the motorcyclists that does not want to follow the
crowd and buy a Harley which looks like every other bike and
does not perform that well. Victory offers the preferred
solution. No doubt you will be seeing several Harley owners
trading in their overproduced 100th anniversay Harley Davidson
for a sleek, high performance, excellent handling Victory.

With the 2003 release of the Vegas and the 2004 release of the
Kingpin, more Victory motorcycle enthusiasts are appearing on
the market. For the Victory motorcycle rider, there are also
high-quality online Victory Motorcycle Clubs such as the –
Victory Kingpin Enthusiast’s Group –. The Kingpin Cruisers
(www.KingpinCruisers.net) site is free and offers its members
loads of — free technical advice, custom Victory Kingpin
T-shirts, and an online Victory aftermarket parts store. The
club really is for all late-model Victory motorcycles and we
encourage anyone that currently owns a Victory or even if you
are looking — check out the Kingpin Cruiser’s site.

With Polaris backing the Victory motorcycle products and the
popularity growing each year, Victory decided to not rest on its
laurels. In 2005 they released the drag-style Vicotry Hammer.
With a real beefy rear tire and dragster looks. This bike never
lasted more than one day on the showroom floor. Most were
pre-ordered through the Victory custom order program. An
excellent review about the Victory Hammer can be found here.

Now with the Victory Hammer winning all of the “Bike of the
Year” awards and given very positive reviews in all of the
motorcycle trade magazines. Victory decided to go for a grand
slam and introducs the Victory Vegas Jackpot. Wow, Victory
motorcycles pulled out an “end-run” attack on us this year.
First the much awaited Victory Hammer motorcycle was released.
These Victory Hammers were quickly sold. That fat rear tire and
dragster cool looks made the Victory Hammer irresistable to the
V-Twin cruiser shopper. Ok, while we are still in the afterglow
of the Victory Hammer and trying to figure how we are going to
go about asking the wife to let us buy one to add to the stable,
Victory motorcycle performed the end-run sneak attack on us by
announcing the Victory Vegas Jackpot for 2006.

In 1920, Jujiro Matsuda founded Mazda as the Toyo Cork Kogyo
Co., Ltd. It has been said that the mission of this vehicle
manufacturer is to design and craft vehicles that are unique and
different from the rest. If one would notice, the company has
certainly put that in mind and has achieved such. Around the
world and throughout the years, their cars has reached
popularity status and rewarding recognition.

>From manufacturing machine tools, Mazda, then known as the Toyo
Cork Kogyo Co., Ltd. shifted to producing automobiles instead.
The first vehicle that the company introduced to the automobile
world is the Mazda-Go. This made its debut in 1931 and was a
vehicle with three wheels. The recognition for Mazda as an
automaker and crafter however came later in 1960. This came with
the production of the company’s first vehicle with four wheels
which was the Mazda R380 coupe. Come the 1980s, the Ford Motor
Company noticed Mazda. Later on, the former included Mazda as
their business partner and technological partner.

One of the vehicles that is running under the Mazda brand and
name is the Mazda Navajo. This is a sports utility vehicle that
made its public debut in 1991. It held two doors and was made
available only as a four wheel drive. People have said that the
Mazda Navajo is a rebadged Ford Explorer in essence. This
vehicle is only sold exclusively to the United States.

The Mazda Navajo, as compared to the Ford Explorer, has a
different grille, different tail lights, as well as different
wheels. However, the only differences between the two vehicles’
interiors are the seat fabrics and the steering wheel hub. The
rest matches each other like a long lost relative. This vehicle
make is offered in two trim levels which comprise of the base
and the LX. The base level was simpler than the LX and held
power windows, power locks, and power mirrors as standard
features. The LX, on the other hand, was more spruced up through
the adding up of extra interior illumination, as well as a
steering wheel wrapped in leather. For people and customers who
would like to add up the features that the Mazda Navajo has,
there are various packages available that has luxuries and
comfort with it. The list includes air conditioning, a stereo
system with cassette deck, a cruise control system, sport seats
with power lumbar adjustment, as well as a pop-up and removable
moonroof.

When maintaining a Mazda vehicle like the Mazda Navajo,
it is important to get the best possible parts to achieve the
best possible results in performance and comfort. A Mazda owner
must be as discriminating as possible when choosing replacement
parts for his car. A good choice of an auto parts supplier is
thus very significant. Pick an auto parts store that has a good
reputation. Go online and browse through the many online stores
offering excellent parts. One of the best online parts suppliers
is Mazda Parts and Mazda Auto Parts. One can simply go
online and check out Mazda Parts and Mazda Auto Parts’ online
collection of the best and quality Mazda parts.

Helmet is the most important motorcycle apparel that a rider can
wear. Basically, it protects the head, skull or brain.

There is an ongoing dispute about helmet’s significance. Some
say it is futile to use them. On the other hand, there are those
who recognize their importance and treat helmets as a Helmet
saves lives. There have been a lot of misconceptions but let us
contemplate which is the truth as compared to the lies. How do
we gauge? Let us acknowledge its advantages. First, it prevents
or reduces the gravity of brain and facial injuries. Second, it
lessens wind noise. Third, it protects the eyes from windblast
and other hazardous debris. Lastly, it provides greater comfort
and protection. With these advantages, why would you consider
not wearing them?

The kind of helmet that gives optimum protection is that of a
full-face helmet. It is recommended by manufacturers,
professional riders and testing authorities. However, other
kinds of helmet are also good provided they pass the DOT or
SNELL testing standards since these two are the most trusted
testing authorities in the United States.

In a study entitled ‘Motorcycle Accident Cause Factors and
Identification of Countermeasures’ conducted by Harry Hurt of
University of Southern California (USC), it disproved the myths
like helmet break necks, block vision, impair hearing, cause
overheating and the likes.

In using helmet, we must instill in our minds that it will never
preclude accident from happening. It is not the be all and end
all of it all. However, it can reduce or limit an injury or
damage. In fact it can save your breath of life!

Another reason is that it makes the riding more fun. After
protection, we must consider the comfort factor of motorcycle
apparel. Aside from the fact that it cut down noise, deflect
bugs and debris, it also gives comfort from the changing weather
conditions, thus, decreases the possibility of fatigue.

Third, wearing helmet radiates responsibility. It means that you
take motorcycling seriously and that we care about ourselves and
others as well. Whether the law mandates helmet usage, the
choice is within you. The discretion lies on you. Nonetheless,
you are just exposing yourself and other persons to foolish
risks when you can do something to reduce or avoid them.

Riding is an attitude and that attitude is reflected in the
manner you ride as well as the way you treat life and
precautions. Be a responsible rider!
