Everybody wants their young ones to grow up well educated to establish not only a great career, but also to hand them a great understanding of the world to give them good life skills. Yet there appears to be this ageless struggle of separating your nippers away from their toys or the gogglebox in order to get them to do their homework. In schools it appears that the playfulness is withdrawn from learning, so little wonder kids find themselves bored. There is a solution however! Instead of this inessential detachment of studying and playing, it’s far more effective to mingle playing and studying so youngsters can enjoy learning.

Children learn much more when studying is simply fun, OR if they realize a pragmatic function as to why they’re studying a particular lesson. The former is often a lot easier than the latter.

For instance: give the children 26 blocks, corresponding to 26 letters from the alphabet. After that, ask the kids to construct a tower from the blocks that spells out a particular word. They’re having fun and trying to make block columns not crash while learning to spell.

These days, it’s now understood that once you introduce a subject to a child in an enjoyable way (for instance English), children are a lot more likely to take an interest in it later on. If the alternative is to simply force them to attend a class, have them face a chalkboard, and tell them to take heed of the teacher waffling on, you’re more likely to encourage daydreaming than learning.

In terms of toys, what to buy the kids? These days there’s a huge array of toys. Always take heed that youngsters enjoy playing with almost anything, even the wrapping paper that hides the Christmas toys! So anything from educational wooden toys to computer games, as long as the focus is on learning and helping your youngsters to become inquisitive (which boosts self-learning).
