Watch out for your viperous MLM upline! They can get you good.

You need to make it a point to know who your upline is. I just spoke with a lady last night on a 3-way phone call. She was the first woman in this network marketing company who built so quickly that she went to the top of the payplan in 4 months.

Her upline was envious and jealous. And part of her network marketing strategy was NOT to read the company Policies & Procedures. Bad, bad combination.

Before You Ever Join Any Company, Read Your P & Ps

Before this lady built the program, she did tell the company that her fiance was promoting another MLM company.

But guess what? Her company’s Policies & Procedures state that you cannot make any money from another network marketing company - not even an affiliate program! If you violate this provision, you can be terminated.

And these restrictions apply to everyone living in YOUR household!

Now to me, that sounds like you’re an employee. If you’re an MLM independent contractor, how can they put those kinds of restrictions on you?

Anyway, this lady build to the top of the payplan. She was rocking and rolling. Everything was great. She was about to receive a $7,000 bonus check for reaching the top of the payplan … first woman to ever do it …

… and all of a sudden her website is turned off. Everything is shut down. The company didn’t even send her a letter.

Bad News From the Viperous Upline!

Her upline called and told her she was terminated because her fiance was in another program. She had already told the company they weren’t married and that he was in another program. So it had nothing to do with her or her network marketing strategy, but because they lived in the same household, the company used that lever to get her out of the line of compensation.

The company views 2 people living in the same household as if the two people are the same. And they can do that because it’s in the Policies & Procedures.

Isn’t that amazing?

What are the chances the company would ever find out about this if not for the viperous upline? Because this lady just got terminated, her sponsor inherits her entire organization. It all rolls up.

The Upline Couldn’t Build It Themselves - And Now They Don’t Have To!

I know a number of network marketers who have lost everything, because they never read their Policies & Procedures. Go to your company website right now, and read your P & Ps. You may be astonished at what you find.

FACT: When you joined your company, you checked a box stating that you agreed to abide by each of those P & Ps. But I’ll bet you never actually read them!

Which reminds me of a trap that a lot of network marketing reps fall into. They think, “Well, everybody I know is violating this rule. The company must not care.” Believe me, you can violate any rule you want, so long as you’re not making any money. I know a lawyer, and today he said to me, “The law is everything. It is society.” When I heard this, my heart told me, “That is not true.” But I didn’t know why.



When I got home that night, I went to sleep at midnight. I woke up at 4AM, and I remembered what the lawyer said, and what my heart said. My mind searched my heart and the world for the answer, and this is what I found:



The law does two things only: to limit what you can do to other people, and to establish the minimum of what you must do to other people. The law lives only in these two places - but love does not exist in either of these places.



For example, I can not say bad things about you, steal from you, hit you, or kill you - even if I think it will make me happy. These are the limits that the law sets as to what I can do to other people (in law books, maybe they are called restrictive laws). There are also laws that force me to do certain things. If I am a man, I have to pay taxes and serve in the army, and if I am a father, I have to give food to my son - even if it doesn’t make me happy. These are the minimums the law sets as to what I have to do to other people (in law books, maybe they are called obligatory laws). But more than that, I don’t have to do: I don’t have to donate money to the government, or buy toys for my son if I don’t want to.



The restrictive laws can be simplified into one rational principle: “You can do whatever you want as long as you don’t hurt other people.” This is actually the way most people view their happiness and freedom. You are free to do whatever makes you happy as long as it doesn’t get in the way of other people. The obligatory laws can also be simplified into one rational principle: “You have to do a few certain things to certain other people, but more than that you don’t have to do.” This is actually the way most people view their responsibilities. Combine these two ways, and you see that this is how most people live their life - how they do the things they want, and how they do the things they don’t want to do. According to the law, being a good citizen means balancing the pursuit of your own happiness with fulfilling your responsibilities to others.



But if I do nothing to you, that is okay too. When other people say bad things about you, or steal from you, hit you, or kill you, I can ignore you and it is not against the law. If I don’t care about you, if I let you suffer and be unhappy, that is not against the law. This is how many people use the word “respect”: I won’t bother you, so don’t bother me. But this is not love. The same is true for the minimums: I have to pay taxes and serve in the army, but I do not have to love my country. I have to give food to my son, but I do not have to love him. The law does not teach you how to love or to have a heart - or tell you that you should have a heart. I can be a law-abiding citizen and break no laws, and yet have no heart. According to the law, it is legal to not care, to not love.



That is why listening to the law and the principles of reason teach you only how to think about yourself. Most of it tells you what you cannot take from other people. I cannot take your money, body, life, or privacy. When you take too much, the law speaks and comes alive, and seeks to punish you.



But the law does not teach you how to share with other people: if I am nice to you, say good things about you, help you, give you money, or love you, the law does not reward you. When you give more than is required by law, the law is quiet and does nothing - it is dead. The law does not exist in the places of love. When the heart is dead, the law is alive, and when the heart is alive, the law is dead. The heart exists in places beyond the law. Listen only to the law, and your heart will die.



Listen to your heart and the hearts of others, and give, and your heart will live. Happiness and love cannot exist when two people try to take from each other, or even if only one person gives and the other takes. The result is court - in fact, any time when someone goes to court, it’s usually because they want to take something from somebody who doesn’t want to give it. Happiness and love exist when two people or two sides give and go beyond the two rational principles of law - when they try to give and do more than is required. Two people who give stay outside of court, because they go beyond the laws of men - for they live from the heart through the laws of love.

Lian had been meditating for many years before consulting with me for his depression. He had been part of a spiritual community that encouraged their members to turn to God through prayer and meditation whenever they were feeling any difficult or painful feelings such as anger, hurt, anxiety, or depression. He had been taught that Spirit would transmute his feelings for him and bring him the peace he sought.

Yet Lian was depressed. “I have faithfully practiced what I’ve had been taught, so why am I still depressed? What am I doing wrong?”

Lian was suffering from what is called “spiritual bypass.”

Spiritual bypass occurs when people use their spiritual practice as a way to avoid dealing with and taking responsibility for their feelings. Anything that is used to avoid feeling and taking responsibility for feelings becomes an addiction - whether it is alcohol, drugs, food, TV, work, gambling, spending, shopping, anger, withdrawal…and meditation. If, when a difficult or painful feeling comes up, you immediately go into meditation in the hopes of blissing out and getting rid of the feeling, you may be addicted to spirituality.

It all depends on what your intent is when you are meditating. People can meditate for two totally different reasons: to avoid pain or to learn about love.

If you are meditating to connect with yourself and your spiritual Guidance in order to learn more about loving yourself and others, then meditation is a good way to get out of your head and into your heart. It is a good way to connect with a loving part of yourself so that you can welcome and embrace your painful feelings and learn what you may be doing or thinking that is causing your own pain. When your intent is to be loving to yourself and take responsibility for your own feelings, then meditation can help you become centered and compassionate enough to do an inner exploration with your feeling self.

However, if you are using meditation to bliss out and avoid your pain, you are using your spirituality addictively. You are using your spirituality to bypass learning about and taking responsibility for your feelings.

This is what Lian was doing. Because he was avoiding learning from his feelings, he was continuing to think and behave in ways toward himself and others that caused him to feel depressed. Then, instead of exploring what he was doing that was causing his feeling self, his inner child, to feel depressed, he was meditating to try to get rid of the feelings.

In his work with me, Lian discovered that he was constantly either ignoring his inner child - his feeling self - or he was in self-judgment. The combination of ignoring himself - which he did primarily through meditation - and judging himself resulted in his inner child feeling unloved, unimportant, and unseen. Lian saw that if he treated his actual children in the way he treated himself - ignoring their feelings and constantly judging them - they would also feel badly and maybe depressed. But Lian did attend to his actual children’s feelings and needs. It was his own that he was ignoring and judging.

Lian realized that he was treating himself the way his parents had treated him. He was a much better parent to his children than his parents had been with him, but he was parenting his own inner child in the way he had been parented. He was not only treating himself the way he had been treated, he was treating himself the way his parents had treated themselves. As a result, he was not being a good role model for his children of personal responsibility for his own feelings, just as his parents had been a poor role model for him.

In the course of working with me, Lian learned the Inner Bonding process that we teach. He learned to welcome his painful feelings during meditation. He learned to quiet the self-judgmental part of himself and to treat himself with caring and respect. He learned to take loving action in his own behalf so that his inner child no longer felt abandoned by him. It was the inner abandonment that was causing his depression. He discovered that his depression was actually a gift - a way his inner child was letting him know that he was not being loving to himself. With practice, Lian learned to take loving care of himself and his depression disappeared. Now his meditation practice was no longer a spiritual bypass.

Windsor Castle is thought to be the biggest inhabited castles around at the moment & the oldest in nonstop inhabitation (about 900 years). Samuel Pepys once commented Windsor Castle to be “the solitary most adored castle around.” That was believed in 1666, and the equivalent can be said today.

The origins of Windsor can be found in the 7th century Saxon hamlet of Windlesora, where the present day parish of Old Windsor is sited. Windsor Castle was initially assembled by the renowned William the Conqueror, following his hit of England in ten sixty six. The original frame was assembled from lumber with gravel fortifications. Windsor Castle held a noticeable strategic location on a big hill high above the River Thames, and was a fraction of a group of strongholds surrounding London, with the Tower of London, one whole days ride away, at its hub.

The Palace was later on re-erected in rock, and increased in value over the following years. More recently Henry 2nd created the Round Tower & the original stone outer wall. After the English Civil War, the Castle’s primary role became that of a royal dwelling. Windsor Castle has stayed significantly unaffected ever since the beginning of the 19th century, apart from the reconstruction job right after the tragic fire.

I know a lot of fisherman in Colorado mainly target trout, but the bass fishing can be excellent at times too!!! During the summer months I spend most of my fishing time on smaller ponds targeting those big old bucketmouths. They bite hard, fight hard, and will have any angler addicted if given the chance.

A lot of trout fisherman have problems making the transition to bass for a few reasons. When you’re used to throwing out tiny spinners and spoons, a big bass plug or jig looks huge. Bass routinely eat bluegills, baby bass, bullfrogs, and even snakes, so don’t be shy about using big tackle…its amazing how many small fish I’ll catch using a big Zara Spook.

Do you have to buy a new rod and reel for bass fishing? No!!! You can get away with using light tackle in certain situations…actually for most smaller ponds in the metro area light tackle is perfect. It limits the baits you can throw, but smaller baits can really shine at times. If you’re going to use your trout rod and reel, I suggest no lighter than 6lb test and stick to lines without too much stretch. If small diameter lines are what you’re comfortable with, I would use a braided line…Berkley Fire Lne is awesome. I always prefer a rod with a lot of back bone to ensure good hook sets!!!

Let’s talk about some basic lures and plastics to get you started. Lipless crankbaits such as the Cordell Spot or Rattlin’ Trap are great lures that don’t take years to master. Using a basic slow retrieve will get you hooked into a good number of fish at many local lakes and ponds. Early in the year a Firetiger Rattlin Trap is killer on Spratt Platte(100th and Mckay). Like I said, just make long casts and a slow retrieve…Don’t worry about jigging or complicating things. Cast her out and reel her in!!! Senkos!! Senkos!! Senkos!! These plastics are fish catching machines even though they don’t look like much. If you’re not familiar with the Senko style plastic worm, it pretty much looks just like a pen. You can rig a Senko style worm a number of different ways, but for me the most productive has always been “wacky rigged”.

Basically all you do is get a light wire hook and stick it right in the middle of your Senko style worm. After you make a cast, the Senko slowly flutters to the bottom and it drives fish crazy. Bite detection is a little different when fishing a Senko…although there will be times that your line darts off and, without a doubt, you have a fish on. There will also be days when the only detection of a bite is a little twitch in your line. Basically any little ticks or pauses on the fall…I set the hook. After the Senko hits the bottom, leave it there for as long as a few minutes, look for little ticks in your line, and set the hook. A great place to use Senko’s is Quincy Reservoir in Aurora!!!

I suggest waders to get to some of the brush piles, but right off the dock will put you onto fish as well. So many different companies have Senko style worms now its hard to keep up, but the Zoom Centipede is my favorite. With this lipless crankbait and Senko combination you have the arsenal to attack many of the metro area bass lakes!!!

Now its time for my favorite way to catch fish, hands down…Topwater!!! Everyday during the spring and summer months I’ll be at one of my bass lakes before the sun comes up tossing out Zara Spooks and Buzzbaits. If you’ve never caught a bass on topwater lures, you,re truly missing out. Although I’ve caught fish all day on topwater lures, the best times are low light periods…early in the morning, and as the sun goes down. First, lets talk about using a Zara Spook…If you’re not familiar with a Zara Spook, its what we call a walking bait. Basically thru a series of short jerks with your rod tip, you can make your Zara Spook “Walk the Dog”. It takes time and practice but once you get used to walking the dog, its cake. With a Zara Spook you’re limited to areas where there isn’t too much weed growth on top, due to having a couple of exposed treble hooks. My favorite way to fish a Zara Spook is parallel to shore lines.

Casting 3 or 4 feet out from shore and walking the dog all the way in will get some explosive strikes. When fishing topwater lures, it’s really common for bass to miss the lure a couple times before taking it. So if you get a hit, but don’t hook up, cast back to the same spot as fast as possible. 9 times out of 10, the fish will hit again. Another thing thats hard for fisherman who have just started fishing topwater baits is to wait until you actually feel the fish on before setting the hook. I know its hard to hold back when you see a fish smack your lure, but you’ll catch a lot more bass if you wait until you feel the fish before setting the hook. My all time favorite Zara Spook color…hands down…is red and white.

Buzzbaits are really effective top water lures and on average produce larger fish. No need to get fancy just casting out and reeling in fast enough to keep your bait above water is perfect. To really maximize results when fishing a buzzbait, bumping cover is a must. If you see a fallen log floating in the water cast over it and bring your lure right over the top of it. Something about buzzbaits hitting objects in the water drives bass nuts. Sure you’ll get hung up and lose a few but its well worth the numbers and size of fish while bumping cover. My favorite color buzzbait is black!!!
